Mitt Romney To Speak at Jerry Falwell's Liberty University (Seriously)

Picture 75.png

At first, it seemed like Mitt Romney wasn't going to sink to Rick Santorum levels to court the religious right -- which would have been super boring for those of us who keep our eyes peeled for cringe-inducing campaigning.

Like all Republicans who want to win, however, Mitt has realized that he must woo evangelical voters -- who often mistrust him for being Mormon.

And what better way to start than by giving the commencement speech at Liberty University, the college created by televangelist/Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell?

For reals.

From Liberty U's website, we learn that Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. announced today that Romney will give grads a talking to on May 12.

"We are delighted that Governor Romney will join us to celebrate Commencement with Liberty's 2012 graduates," Falwell said.

"This will be a historic event for Liberty University reminiscent of the visits of Governor, and then presidential candidate, Ronald Reagan to Liberty's campus in 1980 and of President George H.W. Bush who spoke at Liberty's 1990 Commencement ceremony."

Expected on the scene will be 14,000 graduates and 34,000 guests. Mitt will also have a massive web presence -- Liberty's 70,000 online scholars.

No word whether a water slide is part of arrangement.

What a sad day for the Christian Community that Liberty College has stooped so low to invite Mitt Romney to speak at their graduation. My husband and I of 54 years studied with the Mormons when we were first married for a 6 week course with Mormon Missionaries. Thank God that we had enough sense to know that we did not need a New Church that Joseph Smith started. If you are a believer in Christ and follow His Teachings daily, I would suggest that you look up some of their beliefs for you will be in for a great surprise. I would not want to be in the shoes of those of Liberty College that have agreed to have Mitt Romney speak because when Christ comes back for us, what will we give for our excuse to have a Mormon speak at our Christian College when their beliefs do not match up with Scripture such as they believe that Christ had 3 wives. Jesus purpose on this earth was not to be married for he came only to suffer and die for us so we could have Eternal Life and also they believe that they must go get their geneology together and try to get all the names of their relaltives that were born since the Apostles died to Joseph Smith's arrival and be baptized for them so they can be saved. The Scriptures say that we have to work of our own Salvation with fear and trembling. In Galatians Chapter 1 verse 8  "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Remember that God threw out alot of angels out of heaven with satan, so you cannot believe every angel unless they teach what Chirst has already taught you. God help those at Liberty College see that we as Christians must obey Christ and not allow false teachings get into our path and we must not let anyone who is not following Christ's teachings speak at any event because we will be held responsible for our actions. I do not care if Mitt is running for President or whatever he is running for, this man is gullable and has been deceived by false teachings and we do not want a gullable president of the United States of America.

No big surprise. Now tell me, how is he going to get any hispanic votes?
