Is "Rape Cop" Michael Pena's "Life Sentence" Excessive?

Wow, comparing the severity of the sentences for crimes...wow, i am so THANKFUL to have left New York! The "men" up there are misogynist to say the least and they have utterly no respect whatsoever for womyn and they intensely discriminate against, harass and defile and frequently sexually violate womyn for being womyn, hence why it is the place where "HollabackNYC", an anti-street harassment blog, got started! Yeah, it is, well, you ARE in fact promulgating the idea that "there is nothing wrong with a little rape" while throwing up a false disclaimer acting as if it is! I can see you complaining about Federal wiretapping folks getting 20 years for such an innocuous NON CRIME, the same as most rapes, but to COMPLAIN about rape in New York being given such a, in my mind's eye, a much deserved sentence when even I and so many others, when i was a rape victim, couldn't even get past the detective since they blamed ME for the crime even though I was the victim and not the perp, yet my character was put on the stand, as is the case with many rape victims. Rape is the most underreported crime ever of all crimes and for YOU to complain about the so called "severity" of his sentence as if he didn't deserve it for having committed "a little rape" and "had some fun" in your eyes is COMPLETELY DESPICABLE! Do you even have a mother or were you hatched out of your father's rear end!

After all, why not just say, "Both crimes should be treated with severity" instead of comparing what you feel is the severest of the two, showing you don't think "there is anything wrong with a little rape"!

PS to give you a backdrop on rape, rape is actually WORSE than murder cause, see, you are being tirtured and killed mentally and psychologically while you are alive and you are being forced to live with that memory for as long as you live, suffering from PTSD along with all the other daily assaults on womyn and our spaces in the form of sexual and street harassment, etc and other forms of violence against womyn in public spaces IN ADDITION to avoiding places, ESPECIALLY that place, where you were raped! And don't get me started on seeing the predator who attacked you walk free and having the sick fcuks in charge who freed them - the authorities, the cops - not do shyte, also known as "second rape"! Let's not forget how womyn are often blamed for what they wore, their occupation (sex worker), what time of night they were out, etc as what happened to ME in which YOU are put on a stand and blamed for the crimes someone else did to you, hence WHY rape never goes beyond getting charged, if you are lucky. I even remember sometimes like it was yesterday when the cops there accused me of "being a girl on the stroll" etc when I didn't even know what that word meant. You have to be the freaking virgin mary to get a conviction, even in this day and age with Rape Shield laws in place, which are frequently ignored! Also, remember the lawyer in the rape cops case with Moreno and Mata calling a womyn's vagina, the same thing he came out of, a freaking "venus flytrap" which states that men are drawn to it and that we deliberately trap men in it, exonerating men of control over their own actions while blaming us for the faults of men!

Only a man could write this article! This, your statement, REEKS of male entitlement! "There's nothing wrong with a little rape, right". If you knew rape or how it felt to be raped and then raped again by a system that doesn't understand the feeling of being murdered while alive, which is what rape really is, you wouldn't be saying these sentiments! Let me ask you this question:

Would you think it was "excessive" if someone did to your mom or some male cop did to you what was done to this lady?

Then again, his victim was given a life sentence of never feeling safe again and knowing that someone violently attacked her. If I recall he had a gun out and threatened her. In my opinion, rapists aren't born over night. Who knows if there were other victims, and if he wouldn't have been caught had he continued. Obviously this is all an after thought, but you never know...

absolutely excessive. There is no question his crimes are heinous and deserve a stiff prison sentence but not 75 years. How is that even constitutional? Ive noticed that the USA is handing out longer or equal sentences for sex crimes as they do for murder. Just imagine if all the money that is used to house all these inmates for stretches that are longer than needed was used for public services as opposed to filling the coffers of private prison companies? That's what this is really about: prison being a lucrative business. it's also why drug will never become legal; you have too many lobbyists pushing to keep the laws in place for the sake of corporate america.

What's even worse is that if you're rich like DSK or Jeffrey Epstein you get away with rape.

Not excessive. He committed a premeditated crime, and raped a woman at gunpoint seconds after she left her apartment to go to work. If only all rape convictions were this harsh. Life sentences for violent offenders. Freedom for drug users!
