Is Megaupload's Kim Dotcom Pursuing a Music Career?

Since the Voice has been covering the legal proceedings against Kim Dotcom, there have been very few dull moments.

And now, we have learned that the larger-than-life Megaupload founder -- who has a well known penchant for models and fast cars -- might also be working on a dance album!

As detailed by the Guardian, Dotcom just released his most recent music project, an online video in which he "lampoons" an embattled New Zealand politician.

But that's not the most interesting part.

Indeed, Dotcom has released vids on the web before, including "an expensively produced rap song in which the internet tycoon screams around a German race track with Formula One champion Kimi Raikkonen, and the famous Mega Song in which Dotcom is joined by the like of Alicia Keys and Kanye West to promote his Megaupload online file hosting service."

Details about this production, however, suggest Dotcom is going forward with his hobby, as the "track was produced in collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas' producer Printz Board, with whom Dotcom, currently wearing an electronic tag ahead of an extradition trial later this year, is reportedly working on an album of dance music."

In April, prosecutors were said to have objected to Dotcom's continued pursuit of music, arguing: "that his album, a collaboration with several international artists, was unlikely to succeed."

No surprise here, but TorrentFreak's staffers gave the album a listen in 2011 and "liked what [they] heard."

The Black Eyed Peas announced they'll be taking a break out of respect for Fergie who wants to try to start a family, but the latest rumor is that she may be replaced with singer Ashanti.
