One of today's Olympians is a first timer and the other is hoping that a third return will bring Olympic gold. Both have shown incredible promise from early on in their athletic careers, dominating the volleyball and cycling scenes as a senior in high school and a freshman in college.

Name: Todd Wells

Age: 36

Olympic Event: Cycling

Hometown: Kingston, NY

Shortly after graduating from Kingston High School, Todd Wells headed west for college, and after getting his B.A in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, started working for IBM. His foray into the world of suits and ties wouldn't last very long as his love for cycling had already begun during his freshman year. During his higher education he won the collegiate national title for cross-country in 1995 and 1996. After being invited to race for the specialized Mountain Dew team, Wells went on to race in the NORBA series and the North American World Cup Races. The 2012 summer games will be Wells third-time competing in the Olympics.

Name: Matt Anderson

Age: 25

Olympic Event: Volleyball

Hometown: West Seneca, NY

Despite being a first time Olympian, Matt Anderson already is being dubbed "one to watch" by Sports Illustrated. At a staggering height of 6 foot 10, Anderson has led many teams to victory starting with his high school volleyball team, which had a 17-0 regular season his senior year. Anderson left college at Penn State, where he studied kinesiology, to pursue his volleyball dreams. Shortly after leaving college he began playing internationally including playing in the Federacion Internationale De Volleyball (FIVB) and was the team's lead scorer. In 2011 Anderson had played in more sets than any other men's volleyball player that year.
