To The Parents Of 3-Year-Old Robbed For $400 Chain: Yes, It Is Your Fault

A 3-year-old Brooklyn boy is apparently terrified to leave his house after a group of thugs robbed a $400 chain he was wearing while in the lobby of his apartment on Malcolm X Boulevard in Bed-Stuy late Tuesday night.

If the New York Post won't just come out and say it, we will: his parents, Pedro Hernandez and Riyana Guerrero, are just as responsible for their son's fear as the creeps who robbed him.

Yes, we said it.

No, Harvey Hernandez's parents didn't physically lift the chain from the boy. Nor did they put the creeps who did up to it. That said, blinging out your baby is (ahem) adorable, and all, but who in their right mind lets their 3-year-old out of the house wearing $400 worth of anything? In Bed-Stuy, no less? He's fucking 3!

Further, the robbery happened at 11:45 p.m., which raises the obvious question: why wasn't this kid in bed? Again, he's fucking 3!

"I said to him, 'Let's go to the park,' and he said, 'No,' " Pedro Hernandez told the Post following the robbery.

That's heartbreaking -- it is -- but the kid wouldn't be terrified if he hadn't been robbed. He wouldn't have been robbed if he wasn't wearing robbery bait around his neck in the middle of a bad neighborhood.

The chain was apparently a christening gift, which raises yet another obvious question: who in their right mind gives a 3-year-old a $400 chain as a christening gift? Regardless, Harvey's parents are on the hook for decking the boy out in a $400 chain and taking him out in a bad neighborhood late at night -- what did they think was gonna happen?

As much as it pains us, we'll quote Keanu Reaves in the 1989 film Parenthood: "You need a license to buy a dog, or drive a car. Hell, you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a [parent]."

Those parents should've known better than to dress their child in that cute sun dress.  They were just ASKING for a molestation!

No - this is nothing like rape victims, you mental midgets. The parents aren't the 'victim'. This child was. James is blaming the parents, not the child.   Also, for the guy arguing about a tough life and laundry, etc, it's a pretty easy fix. One parent stay with the child upstairs, while it sleeps, the other goes and does the laundry. Jesus, people. Easiest debate ever. No wonder our country is struggling. People are stupid.

Isn't this basically like placing partial blame on rape victims wearing suggestive clothing?

This is the society 'your' ancestors built. Grammar, deal with it. And by the way,  society didn't create stupid Hispanics. Typical Hispanic ancestry is part black and or Native American. African blacks have an average IQ of 70, Native Americans have a somewhat higher IQ  but are still better suited for life on the idyllic reservation than fast paced NYC. http://www.news-medical.net/news/2005/04/26/9530.aspx

It's easier to save money when you're on food stamps.

Is that right? Hmm...not sure why they need to do laundry at 11:45 at night, but -- at your rates -- selling off that stupid chain could have provided 40 hours of solid child care.

De nada (that was for you, Jeffery Pivot, you shit-kickin' bigot).

And whites are, by and large, overly self-important and patronizing. This is the society you're ancestors built. Deal with it.

...which raises yet another obvious question:... Thank you for not writing that it begs the question.
