Medical Marijuana: Will Denver Ban Prescription Pot Ads?
Though the citizens of Colorado generally oppose President Barack Obama's pressure on prescription pot ops, the City of Denver will soon weigh whether to ban medical marijuana ads.
As detailed by the Denver Post, the City Council will discuss tonight a proposed prohibition on "billboard, bus-bench and sidewalk sign-twirler advertising."
The Colorado cannabis community does not have a unified position on this potential measure, however.
One medical marijuana trade group, the Cannabis Business Alliance, is fighting against the proposal, claiming that the terms of the legislation aren't clear enough.
The Alliance says that businesses would be uncertain of their rights -- especially when it comes to marketing.
Contrast this with the Medical Marijuana Industry Group.
This organization is OK with the proposal, the paper notes, "arguing that it is a show of neighborliness for an industry that is not always embraced."
