Update: Multiple Shooting Victims at Texas A&M University; Gunman, Two Others Dead
Update 4:10 p.m.: KBTX is reporting the College Station Police Department has confirmed three people dead. Officials now say that Constable Brian Bachmann has been shot dead, as well as the gunman and a male civilian. CSPD is now reporting that one officer was shot in the leg, one female civilian is in surgery at St. Joseph Hospital, and two more officers received non-life threatening injuries.
Update 3:45 p.m.: The AP now reports two deaths: one officer and one civilian. According to Dallas station WFAA, the shooting began when Brazos County Constable Brian Bachmann approached the house to serve an eviction notice. Bachmann was shot dead.
Update 3:30 p.m.: The AP reports that two officers and one civilian were injured by the shooting. According to a local newspaper, The Eagle, one officer has died. KBTX reports that the civilian, a female, was rushed to nearby St. Joseph Hospital. Her condition right now is undetermined.
Original Post: At around 1:30 p.m. Eastern time, an armed, unidentified man began shooting in College Station, Texas a block from Texas A&M University campus. According to Texas station KBTX, the shooter was shooting from a house with automatic weapons.
Twenty minutes later the man was contained, and the gunman is now in custody. CNN reports multiple people were shot, including several law enforcement officers, though there is no word on the extent of any victims' injuries. More details to come.
