Mitt Romney's Partying With Kid Rock Tonight; NY GOP Outrage Nonexistent

New York Republican Party Chairman Ed Cox has spent a good chunk of this election season kvetching about the amount of time President Barack Obama has spent hobnobbing with celebrities.

But when Cox's horse in this year's presidential race parties with celebs, the chairman's outrage is nonexistent -- as is the case today, when Mitt Romney has scheduled some chill time with rocker Kid Rock and country music star Rodney Atkins.

Romney and his running mate, Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, are scheduled to attend an event tonight in Colorado. In attendance will be Mr. Rock and Atkins.

We contacted the GOP to see if Cox is as critical of Romney's partying with celebs as he is of Obama's. Surprise, surprise, there is no such outrage.

From GOP spokeswoman Becky Miller:

"President Obama has held more fundraisers during the last four years, than any President prior. His administration has made it a point to exploit his celebrity endorsements and donors, making them co-chairs of his campaign and having them cut television commercials on his behalf - most recently Eva Longoria and Scarlett Johansson. Rather than answer tough questions from actual reporters about his failed economic policies and dismal foreign policy, President Obama has spent his time answering questions from Entertainment Tonight, People Magazine, and David Letterman. With unemployment at 7.8%, 23 million Americans unemployed or underemployed, 47 million Americans on food stamps, and 16 Trillion in debt, President Obama should focus a little more on finding the American people jobs, rather than save his own."

Granted, Romney doesn't have nearly as much celebrity backing as the president, but we seem to recall an old saying about stones and glass houses.
