For the past two years, the inhabitants of Brooklyn's finest nabes have been without a major transportation hub. But that'll all end today.

The Smith-9th Street, which houses the slow-but-steady F & G lines, has been closed for the past two years due to a major rehabilitation project. It's the highest station in all of New York and, at 10:30am this morning, it will be up and running again. Unfortunately, this opening will just miss the morning rush hour but, nonetheless, it has been two years so...

The finished product? An ultra-modern station that will, according to Gothamist, look like something from a different planet. So perfect for Carroll Gardens.

Enjoy the new convenience in the neighborhood.
