Did Bret Easton Ellis Spoil Gravity With a Tweet?

Categories: Film and TV

After many of his followers vented their ire, Ellis went on, divulging even more information about Gravity.

HEY, YOU'RE ABOUT TO READ ANOTHER SPOILER. THIS IS PUT HERE BECAUSE WE CARE FOR YOU AND WOULD NEVER COMPROMISE YOUR SACRED MOVIE-GOING EXPERIENCE:

This raises some questions:

Should people who have already made the conscious decision to subject themselves to a constant, un-edited stream of information have the right to complain when some of it is not to their liking?

Does this even "spoil" Gravity? Isn't the reward of seeing a movie the experience as a whole, and not just a few major events that an intelligent viewer would be able to intuit on his or her own?

Seriously, does this actually spoil Gravity? The trailers are so vague we can't tell.

Aren't we even more guilty here? We are essentially just stripping everything away and saying, "Hey, look at this spoiler!" That's messed up.

How does Ellis's The Canyons end? (James Deen dies. Or does he? We don't know, we've never seen it.)
