10 Weekend Ideas Under $10: Renegade Craft Fair and CHERYL's Very Club Kid Sexxxy Thanksgiving
Prepare for a full pre-Thanksgiving agenda this weekend as we help you sweat off the pounds (before you gain a couple next week) on the dance floor, and while you whiz through the shopping aisles.
Pack some water. You're going to need it.
[Lit] Have a couple of shots tonight to honor comedy writer, author, and Broadway dancer Tim Federle (Better Nate Than Ever) as he presents his new cocktail book for the literati, Tequila Mockingbird. The evening includes a cocktail tasting and presentation. All donations will benefit the Greenpoint Food Pantry.
At 7 p.m., WORD Bookstore, Greenpoint, donations encouraged.
[Party] Brooklyn-based poetry press Lunar Chandelier pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the assassination of our 35th President of the United States with a JFK (Necrosis) Jubilee, a night of readings, puppetry, and dancing. How's that for a commemoration? Sixties period dress is encouraged but optional, though we highly encourage it since you'll be dancing to music from the late '50s through early '60s, including pop, show tunes, early soul, idiosyncratic country music and early rock anthems.
At 7 p.m., La Sala at Cantina Royal, Williamsburg, $10.
[Comedy] There's a reason why men converge to the restroom for secret meetings, and why women go to the ladies room in groups, because that's where deals go down. Join Jon Benjamin, Bridget Everett, Mike Bochetti, Patrick Salt Ryan, Sam Haft, Shaina Feinberg, and host Davis Hill along with Union Hall's house band Valley Lodge for Meet Me in the Bathroom and Tell Me All Your Secrets. Nothing is off limits.
At 8:30 p.m., Union Hall, Park Slope, $10.
