boren104 5pts The fact that he is allowed to remain in the NFL is a travesty. I believe that the NFL has a tendency to overlook severe miscarriages of justice in the legal system just because that certain player brings in considerable money to the league. The writer of this story is not to blame; it is the American mentality that if you are a celebrity or well known public figure, you can easily be forgiven for your heinous acts. If what Michael Vick did were perpetrated by some unknown person, the outrage in the community would be louder and have far longer lasting effects. That person may still be in prison and sure as hell would not be making the kind of money in any job that Vick makes as an NFL player. It is time for the American public to stop turning a blind eye to vicious felonies perpetrated by those in a position of prestige. Stop admiring some jackass who is an animal murderer because he can throw a football. Stop idolizing wife beaters and child abusers because they can sing or act...or again, throw a football. Stand up for what is right and abide by decent human principles.
