Mac--Let's remember that soliciting a prostitute is also a crime and the ex-governor should be in jail too--not just the prostitute. All of us make mistakes...The Gov made a choice, and his choice was the wrong one. The unfortunate thing about this is that Ashley, who I don't think ruined the Gov's, but chose to ruin her own...she is getting WAY TOO much publicity from this. People are giving her attention she doesn't deserve. She is a prostitute...she dropped out of high school and sold herself. Nothing intelligent there, hell I could have done that. I cannot understand the morbid obsession Americans display regarding sexual issues of their politicians and, in general, public figures. Everybody has the right to private sexual life. But in the States everybody is quick at condemning a fallen politician involved in a sex scandal. And the joy in such condemnation is not hidden at all. The Media and everybody is in such a frenzy over this situation and simply joyful making all sort of condemnations. I cannot stop thinking about all the sins, misconducts and infidelities committed by those who today are condemning Mr. Spitzer but will never see daylight simply because they are ordinary people that are not exposed to that kind of scrutiny. Come on! grow up leave him alone. Whether rich or poor, important or ordinary, sex is a fact of life for everybody. The only ones concerned about this issue are Mr. Sptzer and his wife. Be there as it may, I admire Spitzer for resigning, even as the issue at hand is not about his leadership, but about personal issues and morality. Though I will never agree with his decisions re:Kirsten, I believe he should do everything right now to at least mend fences with his wife and family.

For Ashley, there is no one else to blame for her fame/infamy (depending on your position) but the media. They have already violated her privacy enough by showing her photos on various papers for the sake of this big story. If anybody should be blamed for her fame/infamy, it should be our "friends" at the media who will stop at nothing to milk anyone available for any story worth telling

Isn't it ironic? A Governor falls because of morality issues and the "media" gets glorified because of their own brand of crossing the moral lines?
