Will Spitzer Get a Refund?

Categories: Spitzer Sex Scandal

Client 9 — identified as Gov. Eliot Spitzer by the New York Times — was a regular customer of the Emperor’s Club VIP, according to the criminal complaint in the prostitution case.

We’ll skip all the legal mumbo jumbo and get to the point: Spitzer was jonesin’ for some high-priced lovin’ the night before Valentine’s Day.

He had sent over a large deposit of money by mail, but the package was taking its time to get through the US mail. Meanwhile, Spitzer was trying to arrange for “Kristen” to take the train down from NY and meet him at a hotel in DC.

As the time for the appointment neared, the cash still hadn’t arrived. But the Emerald Club’s operators noted that the governor had some credit in his account: $400. Now, that would buy you a real good time in our neighborhood, but Eliot was looking for the royal treatment, and it was going to cost him $2,600.

Hey, why don’t you hit the ATM, Spitzer was told, and not only pull out enough to cover Kristen’s $2,600, but give her an additional $1,500 so that he’d have some cash on the books and this wouldn’t happen next time.

Sheesh, he was a governor, after all.

Eventually, Eliot’s total for the night came to $2,721.41 (Huh? Sales tax? Extras?), and he generously turned over $4,300, which put him in good stead for his next time.

So does that mean he has a refund coming?

It would have been cheaper and safer for Spitzer to purchase consumer-sex if he had legalized prostitution as soon as he got into office.

Teri B. says:

When are these Dem-on-Dem hate crimes going to stop? Now the Obamamaniacs are after Spitzer because he dared to endorse Clinton? Is there anyone they won't mow down in their bid to seat their nominee, whether the majority of Dems agree or not?

Given the remaining primaries, even with revotes in Michigan and Florida, it doesn't look like either Dem may have the delegates necessary to outright take the nomination. But if Clinton's ahead, well to hell with the rest of us seems to the battle cry.

I don't like that Obama gives his supporters permission NOT to vote for Clinton if she wins, and slams the door on working out a deal between he and Clinton. Who's side is he on? His own apparently. At the rate it's going, neither of them will have the necessary delegates, and the super delegates will pick Obama because they'lll be too afraid of what his supporters will do if they don't. THAT'S JUST WRONG! And I think everyone knows it.

The entire discussion is completely polluted with constant, vicious mud slinging, and contrary to what they like to believe, Obama and his crew of surrogates and supporters are just as bad as Clinton, maybe worse, because they don't appear to have loyalty to ANYONE but him, not the party and not the country.

Is it Oba-black-mail?

If every man who used a hooker or cheated on their wife resigned from their job the halls of goverment, finance and industry would be empty. The question is why is the FBI investigating that particular escort service when there are thousands advertised on the internet, maybe Gov. Spitzer made some powerful enemies.

Lesley H. says:

It's nice to see some people see the humor in the situation. Right now, as a Democrat who enthusiastially supported Spitzer in his bid for governor, I am appalled that this brilliant man (not unlike Bill Clinton before him) could have thought that anyone living in the fishbowl of a life in politics can ever enjoy any degree of privacy or anonymity in anything he or she does. The days of undetected, or unreported backstairs pecadillos in the halls of power have long, long been over. The Republicans of course are uncorking the champagne over this one, leaving those of us who were hopeful for progressive change in New York feeling that we are never going to live to see it.

I love the republican knife throwing going on now! How soon they forget gay sex in airport bathrooms, and chasing 16 year old male interns when your the head of the committee prosecuting child pornography! At least Spitzer was with a woman.

The hypocracy is abundant.

CW says:

JCC-

What's wrong with being with a man instead of a woman? Suddenly the Left is anti-gay?

Anyway, lest you forget, Republicans did call for Larry Craig's resignation. Foley, too.

Where are the Democrats calling for Spitzer's resignation? He's basically admitted to being involved with a prostitution ring which possibly had ties with something much more nefarious.

Bottom line, he did something illegal while in office, and I'm not talking about jay-walking. He should resign.

It's so self destructive, you wonder if the guy had some sort of split personality. Half of him was the straightlaced crime fighter.

The other half? Flirting with DISASTER, forget about the sex for a second---he put his WHOLE CAREER on the line for a pecadillo.

Very, very WEIRD behavior. Almost a cry for help.

Eliot Spitzer has always been an arrogant jerk.
When John C Whitehead, a D-Day hero of Omaha Beach, Chairman of Goldman Sachs, and Undersecretary of State for Ronald Reagan, told the people of New York what a jerk Spitzer was, they refused to believe him. Well believe already!

Nobody's getting to the core of this story so I'll have to!! What in the name of God was his wife thinking as she "stood by her man" while he smirked through that bullshit apology?!?! What kind of woman who is the mother of 3 DAUGHTERS opts to support that blockhead instead of packing her friggin' bags and her girls and leaving that self-righteous asshole! You don't stand by him! He publicly humiliated you! He showed disrespect to you, your marriage and for chrissakes your daughters? What kind of an example does Mom set for her girls when she submits to this arrogant behavior???

a regular guy says:

As I said yesterday, when will we rid ourselves of this puritannical taboo on sex and prostitution and legalize the arrangement? It poses no threat to women or marriage, and isn't going to go away. In other countries it is free and open, and not something only for the fabulously well-to-do like Mr. Spitzer. Don't we all deserve a little relief from life's drudgeries? Are the editors of this blog women? Admitting only those statements agreeable to their gender bias? The matter is entirely between Mr. and Mrs. S.

Spitzer Needs to Stay!

Many men think with their peckers before they think with their brains. In Spitzer's case, he is already widely regarded as a dickhead. So this makes no difference. Big dickhead, small dickhead, whatever. Leave this dickhead alone, so he can continue to be a dickhead ON OUR BEHALF!
