At least, Kucinich got the articles on The Congressional Record. Maybe there will be action in the future.
Where's the karma? It seems to me no matter how powerful the political status quo and the corporate media seem to be, the laws of balance in the universe one day will equalize the tyranny.

Mark Davidson says:

I just sent this to my congresswoman. Please consider doing the same.

Hello Ms. Hooley,

Please apply pressure to Nancy Peloci to bring Representative Dennis J. Kucinich's heroic articles of impeachment against President Bush before the congress. Dennis did something that was truly great. A simple vote on the articles will tell the country so much about their representatives. Representatives, who supported the war, can say with some vindication that they voted to bring to trial the person who lied to them and the rest of the world.

We, as a country, can not hide from the gross stupidity and what appears on the surface, to be the illegal acts, of our president. The rest of the world is watching us. While the US based press is sort of ignoring the Articles, the rest of the world is asking what type of fools are we. Will we hold our president accountable or not.

Will we bring him to trial before he is dragged before a world court?

I am not a radical. I have no hidden agenda. I am just angered by the fact that we as Americans, accept a lying individual as our president. He makes an ass of himself and unfortunately, our country.

Please consider pushing the articles to the floor of the house.

Thank you,

Mark Davidson

HUH???? It's a waste of time to protect the constitution of the United States and bring criminals to justice? If you allow this administration to get away with ALL of the BLATANT crimes they've committed, what kind of precedent are you setting? They are criminals and need to be convicted and imprisoned. NO PARDONS.

Thank you, Congressman Kucinich, for following your oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

And if you believe that pursuing impeachment is a "waste of time", then my wish for you is that you go move to your own banana republic, and quit trying to change America into one with your ambivalence. Better yet, run for Congress... spinelessness is a major prerequisite that will take you far in obtaining Madame Pelosi's favor.

As much as I'm upset with President Bush for mishandling a lot of things...the war, taxes, debt and more...this impeachment crap is ridiculous! Impeachment is more than just dumping a laundry list of what you didn't like about the guy and putting them in an impeachment resolution! Much of what we see in this resolution is hyperbole and is the byproduct of the media and far left that have hated George Bush even before he was elected. This is just a blood in the water frenzy to try and effect the upcoming election..if not, why didn't this or any other congressman pursue this years ago? I even thought the impeachment of Clinton was a waste of time but at least there was a clear (everyone could see the video) violation of law (perjury). Come on folks, if you want to change things...why not put in some decent candidates? These two we have as the "front runners" are pathetic!

Impeach and imprison!

If the Democrat-led leadership in Congress had the guts to impeach this criminal president, they would find that not only would they have the support of a majority of the American public behind them, but also the rest of the world, likely guaranteeing a Democrat win in November for the White House.

This inaction will leave a deep and lasting national wound, rippling down to the next generation with unforseeable consequences. It is imperative for Nancy Pelosi to do what is necessary in her charge to protect the current, and future, interests of the American people, to whom she represents, in order to begin a process of national healing. And this can only start by holding the architects of these crimes in the Bush "administration" accountable to justice. History will not look back kindly otherwise.

The strength of America has always relied on the foundations set forth in its laws and Constitution. To continue to ignore those cherished laws now in the republic's time of need, is a crime in itself, and indeed possibly even a greater one.

This is all show! The guy will be out of office long before they even get an impeachment started. And this D from Ohio knows it. Why aren't you all outraged that if this goes through it will cost you millions? All to impeach a guy who is already done and will be a lame duck by November? Good move! Shows how many of you would fit right in with all the chumps you are so quick to criticize.

This Rep is not a hero, he is a zero. He is doing this to have political fodder to use for his next re-election. I can't believe how all you "smart" people can see right through GW, corporate America, and loads of other conspiracies, but you think this guy is being sincere, honest and heroic fighting the fight all "true Americans" need him to fight... exactly why conspiracy nuts are all referred to as, well, nuts!

In November you will be able to elect Obama and then you will likely have 4-8 years to blame everything from global warming to shortages of coffee on GW.

As for those who say things like, anyone who thinks this is a waste of time should move to another country (paraphrasing)... Well just goes to show hypocrisy is not indigenous to holders of political office. Dare I say, thats why its called free speech folks?

Think about it.

PatriotAct says:

Sentiment will not bring about impeachment, only an indictment with the most horrible crimes that shock and awe America will bring this administration down. Impeachment is the great American Shakespearean drama, and America is only in a position to play this drama out on T.V.. So let’s play ball.

An indictment that grabs the attention of Americans and grabs the short hairs of Congress is the only indictment that will not be ignored.

Kucinich is being ignored.

Americans would be absolutely fascinated and entertained by the trial of bush and cheney using articles of impeachment based solely upon felony violations of the USA Patriot Act. Imagine the wealth of FOX television consultant contractors hired to pontificate on USA Patriot Act theory, imagine the ratings. Imagine the discovery powers a Judge would have under the USA Patriot Act, imagine. bush imagined, and look what it got him. It is your law and it is the only law that will terminate this un-American administration.

Tens of millions of dollars have been spent by the 'media' at large in conjunction with government propaganda offices to sell the war and the USA Patriot Act to Americans. This law shines, radiates an energy that when cast upon the accused and paints them instantly and forever as horribly and terribly un-American. This is a directed political weapon and it must be focused on those who have committed felony violations of the USA Patriot Act. The USA Patriot Act is a new politica weapon and the people must coop the strategy of Misaprion of a Felony within the scope of the felony provisions of the USA Patriot Act.

It would have been a huge news story if Kucinich charged bush and cheney with felony violation of the USA Patriot Act, I mean that would be HUGE. bush and cheney would be absolutely terrified, stammering their responses through the limbags. Blogs would fume, tongues would lather, ivory towers would crash down and the dust would cover all of the media with a conspiratorial cloak stinking of un-Americanism. Yes, I 'ism' and ‘eason them in the same breath. The soldier who wins the war walks off to battle merrily for he knows he will return the same.

When the roaches scurry, they leave tracks, and of course that's all part of the hard-hitting prosecutorial strategy of using the USA Patriot Act to defend this nation from terrorism and those that aid and abet terrorism by disseminating false information on terrorism, a serious and egregious felony violation of the USA Patriot Act.

If Kucinich would have simply indicted bush with articles that were fortified with the prosecutorial tools and discovery tools included within the felony provisions of the USA Patriot Act he would have effectively tarred and feathered bush. bush's lawyers could then only attack the USA Patriot Act itself in order to destroy its power in the courts.
America loves irony, a wild story, juice baby. The vast majority have no interest in the Constitution or the law, unless it’s some hot babe on a police show pointing a gun at a dude and shooting him. Ratings talk.

Kucinich has no ratings.

If you are going to bring down warring tyrant then you will have to throw him to some very real lions. The lions in the USA Patriot Act make Kucinich's application of old, tired laws, (that are being ignored also), a real disappointment. Kucinich needs some help with his presentation. He puts everybody to sleep.

- WAKE UP AMERICA ! -

Do you really want to drool yourself to sleep over 4 hours of droning old stuff that has failed so often already, or do you want to see bush accused of un-American and illegal activities, felony violations of the USA Patriot Act ... or does everybody want to pretend the USA Patriot Act like, doesn't exist?

Whatever ... right?

Prosecuting by making use of the felony provisions within the USA Patriot Act will bring bush down like a chain saw clears brush. The lawyers will be forced to attack the USA Patriot Act law and its extensions, they will have to attack the theory of the USA Patriot Act and dismember and destroy the USA Patriot Act and associated legislation in order to save their hides.

And they would be branded as un-American for all time. They would hold up their executive orders signed by bush to shield him from the very laws he made to keep you in check, and then you would start to connect the dots. Then you would connect the dots.

It really is in plain sight.

Focus on real felonies, not emotional or bandwagon appeals and you will get your man.

The glittering generalities of crime, banging on pots and pans will not indict or impeach. Congress is complicit in all of this, and some of them must also be charged with felony violation of the USA Patriot Act.

Terrify them, please; they have terrified you with it all. Fight back with felony prosecution using the felony provisions of the USA Patriot Act and its extended legislations.

Rascalia Supreme says:

While I support the impeachment of George W. Bush, the number of articles presented by Kucinich is a catch bag of all accusations against Bush. This weakens the case.

Impeachment is for "high crimes and misdemeanors". Incompetence during Katrina (without premeditated intention to cause harm and suffering) is not grounds for impeachment; also this incompetence was not only displayed by Bush. Tagging such things on to the far more serious Iraq handling dilutes the real crime.

Good job Dennis - 34/35 is a great start. The global warming stuff is fantasy, but the rest is 110% verifiable criminal action. Go get 'em and any congressperson who doesn't support this should be added as a conspirator with W and co.

PatriotAct says:

Rascalia and Greg, Hi,

The fantasy global warming stuff really weakens a group of impeachment articles. To say that if one does not believe in cutting edge and incredibly argumentative global warming theory then that non-belief is a crime is ... silly ... boring, he needs better writers.
There are more powerful approaches to articles of impeachment available. Imagine the uproar in the press if the articles of impeachment had been based solely and only on felony violations of the USA Patriot Act.
And we could comb through all of this with a fine tooth and we would be left wondering what kind of agenda is really being pursued with these articles of impeachment against bush.
If the object were to fail, then Kucinich wins.
I don't see strong enough language in Kucinich's articles of impeachment to move a kentucky toad off a lilipad. This ain't no alligator, and that's what you need.

Dr. Robert Smith says:

I'm glad I voted for Representative Kucinich a few times when I lived in the Cleveland area. While some of his ideas seem strange at times, it almost always turns out that he's right!!!

I've written to every member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, encouraging them to take up these Articles of Impeachment and, regardless of their vote, allow the American public to see and hear for ourselves what evidence exists. I'm meeting with my congressman this Friday - he sits on the Judiciary Committee. I never thought that I'd be faced with adamant obstruction of justice (that is, refusal to openly deal with these articles) by Speaker Pelosi and Chairman Conyers. I hope that Bush is giving them lots of Hometown Pork to pay for their betrayal of the American people and our constitution. I pray that the committee, House, and, ultimately, the Senate hold hearings and vote on this matter!!!

...I recommend people do research before posting. Also, it seems as though everyone here has taken creative writing lessons. I like to see that the public school system is getting that one right.

Note: when addressing a member of Congress you might consider using a more appropriate title than 'Ms.'

OK...so I'm not going to bother continuing with this because most if not all of these articles would get shot to Hell if brought before the Congress.

The end.

Sad, if anything. Kucinich is preaching to the loony left.

If Bush can be impeached, than Kucinich can be tried for treason.

Such nonsense this is. FDR put 100,000 americans in a concentration camp. Before Bush can be tried, they should go back and retroactively impeach FDR if they want to be consistent.

Hell, why stop there. They could impeach almost every President for something if they look hard enough.

Andrew Yu-Jen Wang says:

So the impeachment process is possible and/or can be used for criminal prosecution even after George W. Bush leaves office—giving the American people a sense of hope. Even though impeachment while Bush is in office does not seem likely due to the complicity of Congress relative to the illegitimate Iraq War, Kucinich’s efforts relative to impeachment and the efforts of hundreds of Americans relative to impeachment are not wasteful collectively. For example, such efforts are beneficial in that (1) legitimate accusations made in the course of Bush’s presidency appropriately and importantly inform the American people and the world of Bush’s abuses of power, corruption, and dishonesty; and (2) legitimate accusations, for example, in Dennis Kucinich’s excellent book, “The 35 Articles of Impeachment and the Case for Prosecuting George W. Bush,” may contribute to some impeachment and/or punitive process against Bush after he leaves office.

Dennis Kucinich is my role model. Kucinich is simply the best. Congressman Kucinich has, in any case, done invaluable, noble, and exemplary work in pushing for impeachment so vigorously and single-mindedly.
