He's Out! Alex and Cynthia Rodriguez Divorce

Categories: Featured

If you actually paid attention to the headlines this past 4th of July weekend, you might have noticed that things aren't going too well for the marriage of Alex and Cynthia Rodriguez. It seems that C-Rod thinks that A-Rod is being a bit of a B-Rod (choose your own insult that begins with "B") and they're heading for the "D-ROD," which is today's banner Post headline. Is this a marital split or a complex algebra problem?

This whole sordid affair is going to get uglier (is that possible?) once the two Rodriguezes file for divorce today in Miami. Over the weekend, Cynthia accused Alex of being "brainwashed" by Madonna and her kooky kabbalah ways. One of Cynthia's lawyers, Maurice Kutner, told the Post that the grounds for divorce are a "long period of infidelity on the part of Mr. Rodriguez" and "emotional abandonment." Alex's grounds for divorce are that Cynthia doesn't want to reconcile. The Daily News delves further into the new players in this saga with a rundown of the career highlights and lowlights of both Alex's and Cynthia's divorce attorneys. A-Rod's attorney, Ira Elegant, usually avoids divorce cases, but Elegant did handle Shaquille O'Neal's split from his wife last year. Heading up C-Rod's legal team is Earle Lilly, who represented boxer George Foreman in a paternity suit last year.

Meanwhile, Madonna went so far as to issue a statement that She and A-Rod do not have a romantic relationship and that she and husband Guy Ritchie are not divorcing. She tells People.com:

"My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study."

Despite the denials, Cynthia Rodriguez is still hopping mad at the Material Girl. C-Rod is also on the verge of a nervous breakdown, which is why she fled to Paris with Alex's blessing, A-Rod's former trainer Dodd Romero tells the Post.

And finally, in what may be the weirdest tidbit in the coverage of the War of the Rodriguezes, the News tells us that (bolding mine):

"Last night, Cynthia Rodriguez was back in Miami. After working out at a gym, she joined her trainer, Dodd Romero, and his daughter for dinner at an Outback Steakhouse. Adhering to her postpregnancy diet, Cynthia Rodriguez ate tilapia, sweet potatoes and brown rice brought from home."

If that doesn't illustrate in a nutshell how dish-y this story is going to get, nothing will.

Oh, and the best A-Rod-related headline of the day? The Post wins with the truck hed "A-ROD'S WIFE HURLS SPLITTER" on pages 2 and 3. The News came in a close second with its puntastic truck, "BITTER UP! A-ROD & MRS. GOING TO WAR."

So sad that he was concerned about the lack of relationship with his own father as a child. It appears he cheats on his wife and has spent only a brief amount of time with his new baby!!!
Seems A-rod is an F-rod.
Perhaps he should read his own book over again. Look to the Obamas' to be a positive role model for the nation and not Madonna...
Instead he is just acting like any other parent who screws up the familys' future because they can't keep their clothes on and/or their mind focused on their childrens futures!!!
JUST ANOTHER FINE EXAMPLE OF HOLLYWOOD/SPORT STARS INFLUENCING PUBLIC BY NEGATIVE EXAMPLES FOR OUR FAMILIES.
I hope by example we parents can point out to our children how screwed up these people are despite the fact they have tremendous advantages. They act like spoiled children without self control or limits!!!
Another fine example was the report of Manny Rodriguez from the Red Sox fighting and attacking a person working for the baseball league for not having tickets to give him (over a dozen) just prior to a game!!!
AND WE WONDER WHAT IS TAKING PLACE WITH OUR CHILDREN JUST LOOK TO THEIR ROLE MODELS!!!
THAT DOESN'T EVEN INCLUDE ALL THE DRUG USE REPORTED!!! THEY ALL ALL SPOILED AND OVER PAID.
LET THEM WORK A NORMAL JOB AND THEN THEY WOULD NOT HAVE TIME FOR ALL THIS UNDESIRABLE AND/OR CRIMINAL BEHAVIORS....

Just another example of a poor to middle class chick using whats between her legs to snag half of a star players money. I can always understand the example of women who help their husbands careers and then deserve half othe assets aquired. However when the husband is a star athlete and his career is based on his God given talent not the woman at his side then she deserves only to be placed in the lifestyle she came from and nothing further. In their marriage she gave him what that no other woman could give? Support? Sex? All these things any woman could give, because at the endd of the day his talents prove that all he really needed (as a friend in the military once said) was a heartbeat and a hole. For this she deserves HALF?!?! She is just proving herself to be the most expensive prostitute in history!

Hey John, why do I think you got dumped when your wife smartened up and you are still bitter about the divorce?
By the way, your buddy in the military sounds like a real genius.

Mike - you sound like an emasculated punk. Women have been pulling this sh*t off for years. He's a star athlete who makes millions - you think she didn't know full well what she was getting herself into? She married him for his money and now she's taking half - period end of story. And I don't even like Alex Rodriguez.

What ever the truth may be, it is none of our business. He is an awesome baseball player who doesn't need to shoot up to play successfully. While I do not agree with all that is being said, the bottom line is it is his personal life, not ours. If we all worried about our own lives half as much as we worry about all of these people's lives, well I think you all can fill it in!

So Cynthia should stay and wait for some STD to find via E-rod ( that's error for all us Red Sox fans ) but baseball aside he's not setting a good example for young fans and he should be. Its a small price to pay for the over-the-top lifestyle he and all the other professional athletes have. I hope they do the right thing for their children post divorce.

These comments are ridiculous!!! If this was just an ordinary guy being served with divorce papers, this type of reaction wouldn't be the case. But because he is a Yankee who is constantly in the public eye and always being talked about - this entire thing is being blown wayyy out of control. In any other situation, any mature and understanding human being would hear both sides out before passing any judgement - but again, not in this instance. Alex may be a Yankee, he may be rich and super talented but that doesn't mean he isn't human. He is allowed to make mistakes and learn his lessons just like everyone else is and I'm sorry ya'll can't see/accept that. This news isn't any of our business and I'm completely disappointed that the media and those who are voicing their opinions so foolishly think that they have any right to pass any judgement on Alex/Madonna/Cynthia. This is a private, personal matter and it should remain that way.

If A-Rod wasn't famous nobody would care about his divorse, the Media always has to cause problems for the rich and famous and dig up dirt just to make a million for themselves, it's to bad more famous athletes and movie stars don't believe in God and could witness to others and take a stand for right and wrong, I for one feel sorry for A-Rod and his family since the media has caused this divorce, people make mistakes all the time and if they ask for forgiveness they should be forgiven. Let's move on and start taking a stand and look to our dollar bill which says it all IN GOD WE TRUST!

Cheri says:

I agree that most of these comments are the incredibly stupid! Especially John, apparently you have never been in love before. I agree that if they didn't have kids she should not get half but they do.

I am a huge Yankees fan, with that said, A-Rod should not have made a commitment to get married and have children. Being an athlete or movie star does not give you the right to emotionally abandon your family. I am not sure Cynthia deserves to get halk but she deserves to live the lifestyle her and her girls have grown accustomed to. She is their primary care giver and she needs to look out for them.

I really hope they can work this out. I'm sure they have both made mistakes but they both have to want to make it work for it to work. He obviously could get ALMOST any woman he wants but he chose Cynthia, so maybe he can get back to that point of when they fell in love. And last time I checked John love, marraige and children are not involved in prostitution.

vick says:

Cheri what lifestyle. The lifestyle C-Rod enjoys today is the lifestyle he gave her.

C-Rod is just the usual goldigger. If you think she did not know what she was getting into, you are living in fantasy land. She was with him for seven year before they got marry, you think he didn't cheat on her back then. So if she know he cheats, why the heck would she marry him? Very simple for the money.

You know a woman is a goldigger when she signs a prenuptial agreement and wants to void it. Why should this goldigger get half of his property, how many batting practice did she throw?

You also know she is a golddiger when she goes out and hires four lawyers to get divorced, and then these lawyers start talking to the press. She is a vindictive woman, who is out to get what she did not earn.

She claims she provided him with emotional support, so what about his financial support, not only for her but probably for her family too. She would not be able to afford the trips to Paris, with the freaking trainer who claims to be A-Rod's friend but is choosing sides, I wonder how much she promised him?

Any respectable woman would not go to Paris for a week and leave her two month old baby behind with the baby sitter. While regular women run to their mothers to cry and complaint this so call good mother and good girl, runs to paris to the house of Lenny Kravitz...

And now she wants people to belief there is nothing going on there. I tell you people this woman is no saint. She should just get child support and that is it. If she wants to keep the lifestyle she lived while with him, she should either get a job, like most women do, or find another millionaire to milk. Like someone said this woman is looking more and more like a high class prostitute..
