Rightbloggers Think Anti-Scientologists are a "Left Wing Group"

scientologyprotest.jpgWe've had a lot of posts at Runnin' Scared about Anonymous, the guerilla group dedicated to exposing Scientology. So we were surprised -- in a way -- when, after an Anon allegedly hacked Sarah Palin's email, conservative websites started calling Anonymous a bunch of liberals.

"Left Wing Group Hacks Palin's Email," writes Caleb Howe of Political Machine. First acknowledging that Anonymous is "famous both for their campaign against Scientology and their strange protest activities" -- linking to masked Anons dancing to Rick Astley with American flags, a dove, and an Anonymous MN banner during the Republican Convention -- Howe goes on to assert that "Anonymous may be anonymous, but their tactics are as plain as day. It's Obama Supporter 101."

Big-time rightblogger Michelle Malkin takes his word for it, saying that "The group taking responsibility certainly has a history of partisan attacks," citing only the dance performance.

American Power calls Anonymous a "left-wing subterranean protest group." "Liberals busy spreading the information obtained illegally," hollers Wake Up America. Examining a message from the alleged hacker, which says nothing about Obama, Wizbang decrees, "Obama supporter, it seems." Jammie Wearing Fool calls the hacker a "HuffPo turd," though no explanation of the role of the Huffington Post is provided. TigerHawk blames "the left," Power Line blames "liberals," etc.

You have to wonder: if a group dedicated to taking down Scientology is, by their definition, a liberal group, does that mean Scientology is a conservative cause?

Sorry to say, you're way off base on this one. Everyone knows anonymous is backing the Marcabian Hard Party's choice for president. None other than $cientology's nemesis, Xenu (galactic warlord) himself.
Go to xenu08.info to see for your self.

A Watcher says:

Or maybe the person who did was just someone looking for cheap, stupid laughs at the VP nominee's expense?

Seriously, Anonymous can be ANYONE. Not just the 'sector' of Anonymous that speaks out against Scientology; there are Anon's who do nothing but play pranks (on the net and IRL), trick people into clicking links that lead to bad porn, shock art and rick rolls. Very few of 'Anon's' are actual hackers. It's foolish to assume that Anon is a 'left wing group'.

Scientology is not a conservative cause; it is a perversion of all that is basic human decency. Go to exscientologykids.com to find out more.

Anonymous says:

Well, many anons actually like Palin so I wouldn't say Anonymous is left wing. And in Scientology's Sea Org, women are coerced into having abortions, if they refuse they are expelled from the group. I think just about everyone finds this policy disgusting. And the Disconnection policy prohibits Scientologists from communicating with anyone the CoS calls a "suppressive person" - even close family members and friends are cut off, by order of Scientology officials. It doesn't matter who you vote for, Scientology is horribly abusive. It is a cult exploiting it's own members.

AmgAnon says:

It's a systemic strike to make Palin look bad and the democrats to look like hackers on steriods. This is a strategic move by Anonymous to make the other candidates look less desirable to give their candidate, Lord Xenu a better running chance.

Lord Xenu is capable of cutting corrupt spending and endorses mental health funds to help those mentally crippled to prevent another travesty like L Ron Hubbard and Tom Cruise. With use of economically efficient DC8 vehicles and volcano propulsion power, we hope to cut dependency from Middle East oil and cut down on pollution.

Vote Xenu'08. He gets things done. With hydrogen bombs.

For the record, Anonymous was nowhere near the RNC during its entirety. We knew well to stay away from it, and that things could get ugly. That pic on Political Machine of us is from August 31st at the Liberty Parade. We were there, promoting free-speech, liberty, justice, equality, and freedom... just like anyone else who marched in the parade. Google it.

Most Anon are not even American. your post makes no sense whatsoever it terms of what it is to be Anonymous. There is no connection to any political group as each person holds there own preference and that's not reflected on the collective.

Marc Abian says:

These were a couple of people acting on their own, playing a prank.

Conservatives should know that Anonymous is not liberal or conservative, some support Obama, some support McCain.

Scientology has enough of a criminal history that opposition to it should be a non-partisan issues.

The Church has certainly used its star power to access high levels of government to promote its agenda. Hopefully whoever wins the White House will see through their attempts at manipulation.

BigDaddy says:

Media in this country has lost the game. Anonymous, a collective of people, ideologies, religions, political leanings, I.Q's, professions, and economic statuses, does not have a opinion on the current race for President of the United States.

I personally don't trust any candidate any farther than I can throw them. Many agree with me, but others are quite for McCain/Palin, and others are looking to Obama/Biden for answers. The reality of the situation is that many "Anonymous" are more concerned with the Cult of $cientology than any political race and for the media to simply group everyone in the collective as "liberals" is rather offensive to some in it.

I have no doubts that an Anon hacked Palin's account. This person did not get express approval from any leaders, because we have no leaders(a concept Co$ is still to this day trying to grasp). If/When this person is found, I'm sure people will want to know their motivation. But Anons do as they please, because they can. This Anon is possibly looking at prison time, and that is a responsibility they will have to take if and when that time comes. Before the media starts writing sensational stories gouping people together they should get their facts straight first. If you want to learn more about Anonymous go to enturbulation.org, whyweprotest.org or youfoundthecard.com.

Anonymous says:

We're still having a hard time convincing some journalists that there's a difference between general anonymity on the internet and Anonymous as a part of Chanology. It seems like such an elementary concept, but I suppose not everyone has the brain capacity to recognize it.

David Mudkips says:

As one of the idiots dancing in that video and a life-long Republican, I take great offense at being called a liberal. From my experience within the collective, the political demographics follow a similar breakdown with the general internet population, i.e. 2/3rds RON PAUL supporters and a mix of Republicrats. PLZ 2 BE DOING BASIC RESEARCH MS. MALKIN KTHNX!

LOL! I just love it! Rightarded morons have Republican IQs, obviously, but the level of stupidity that Republidiots manage to reach is EPIC! Love it!

If anything, Anonymous around the world votes for Xenu in all elections, pointing out the fact that Democrappers and Republinazis are zero different, and only Lord Xenu can really effect change -- change for the good, that is.

Man, with Bill Orally leading the pack of uneducated, cult-driven Republicans, no wonder we end up with things like the Scientology crime syndicate in our midst.
