Midtown McCain Supporter Assaulted; Angry Left Blamed

mccainsign.jpg"Will the media run with a story of an Obama supporter who went berserk at the sight of McCain signs and repeatedly struck a woman volunteer on the head with a stick?" We're not sure if we qualify, but here goes nothin': at Pajamas Media Oleg Atbashian reports that in September a female McCain volunteer was approached at the corner of Lexington and 51st by a 49-year-old man who yelled "You people are ridiculous," broke the handle of the McCain sign she was holding, and struck her with it. The man, who was arrested, is described by Atbashian as an "Obama supporter" and "the left," though his party affiliation, as well as his most recent psych assessment, is undisclosed. (The assailant did say that the election "has me so upset," but that applies to a lot of people.)

PJM commenters react: "My advice is, go to WalMart and buy a gun. Regardless of who wins this election trouble is going to erupt, particularly in urban areas," "I expect the blacks to riot because of course they are all animals... Big mistake to attack me is all I can say," "If Obama loses, be preparded to defend this country from the radical left leaning liberal socialists... don’t run away, run out and fight them and drop them where they stand," etc.

One reason I have seriously been considering buying a gun is because of social conservatives. A lot of them are crazy and quite willing to shoot whatever black/gay/liberal/etc momentarily startles them. They're preparing for an imaginary war against "the left" or "socialists" or "black people," and that's why the second amendment exists - for people to defend themselves against gun nuts. Sort of ironic, in a way.

SERIOUSLY, 'I have been thinking about buying a gun'? Before you go completely nuts, go and read the statistics of how many people who have guns in their home use them for DEFENSE against intruders as opposed to how many are involved in harming people in their own home, especially children. Buying a gun is the most idiotic thing imaginable. If you are worried, get a nice bat. Keep it by your bed and know you will never have to pick it up. These stories are SENSATIONALIZED by the media and if you looked at the odds of something like this happening to you, even if you are carrying or wearing or bearing a sign..is extremely remote. If you watch the news, stop.

Not many libs that do these crazy things, it is mostly the wingnuts at the McCain /palin rallies after they get all ginned up with hate from the hate filled speeches, it's a shame that people are talking guns , fair elections are the answer and stop all this ego crap. it's all so ignorant.

Oh please! You need to get out of your liberal bubble. There are tons of incidents of liberal rage, the media just doesn't report them. I guess your excuse will be that it's always justified when a liberal rants, raves, attacks, hangs burning effigies of the President, throws molotov coctails at McCain signs in people's yards, collectively wears t-shirts to rallies with "Sarah Palin is a C_nt" on them and yells "stone her old school!" also.
