The MTA advises motorists that between 11:30 p.m. tonight March 23 and 2 o'clock tomorrow the next day, the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed to traffic, as ten Asian elephants, nine horses and three ponies from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be marching through it. The beasts will take the tunnel's north tube into Manhattan and proceed along 34th Street to Madison Square Garden. If you want to watch them come in, or scream anti-animal-cruelty epithets at their tenders, the MTA suggests you use the north side of East 37th Street between Second and Third Avenues. Update: Wrong dates corrected. Glad we were too drunk tired to go take pictures!
