In case you missed it, the Republican National Committee is expected to pass a resolution to henceforth brand the Democratic Party the "Democrat Socialist Party." Dave Weigel has the resolution ("We the members of the Republican National Committee recognize that the Democratic Party is dedicated to restructuring American society along socialist ideals...") promoted by the Republican National Conservative Caucus. We just want you to know so you will not mistake upcoming Republican statements as parodies from our Exploring the Right Wing Blogosphere section. We are told the moderating influence of RNC Chairman Michael Steele prevented the group from making it the "Democrat Fascist Party."

The American public has come up with a more suitable name for the Republican Party as well, but the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing the FCC to punish media outlets for broadcasting obscenities means most people will never hear it.
