So What's Wrong With Michael Jackson? (Update: TMZ Says He's Dead) (Update: Washington Post Confirms: Michael Jackson is Dead)

Categories: Life and Death
jacksonwheelchair.jpgWe hear paramedics were summoned, and he wasn't breathing when they got to his house. Cardiac arrest.

99 out of 100 celebrity watchers are thinking "drugs." But you know both Michael Jackson and you are older than you used to be, right? We doubt MJ's the type to watch his cholesterol.

We know everyone says this, but more as it develops.

Update: TMZ says he's dead.

Update 2: Reax: "The 'Thriller' video... it's really coming true now, isn't it?" (Phineas); "So Farrah Fawcett is the Darby Crash to Michael Jackson's John Lennon." (daveweigel).

Update 3: Someone (the guy down the way, you know, that guy) just made the excellent point that "cardiac arrest" just means his heart had stopped -- doesn't mean he had a heart attack. So, now we're thinking an icepick to the back of the head.

Update 2: Washington Post says he's dead*, so he's dead. They uncovered Watergate.

Update 3: CNN, NYT et alia aren't going for it. But put "michael jackson dead' in Twitter and go get a drink of water, and when you come back it's "2275 more results since you started searching."

Update 4: *WashPost pulled their story. Here's the screen grab, though:

wapojackson.jpg

The squib reads, "There are a million things you can say about Michael Jackson, and they will likely all be said over the next few days. But here's one undeniable truth -- the man was responsible for some of the most perfect pop songs ever. So for now, just enjoy one of them." Plus a YouTube video.

Update 5: Nearly everyone is reporting Jackson dead now. Now that it's close to a sure thing, we're getting an eerie feeling. Just a few months ago Jackson was planning to give his "last public performances" in July. And after all the years of lawsuits and tabloid yak, people were still very excited about it. If all you knew about him was what turned up on Entertainment Tonight and in late-show monologues, you wouldn't understand why. But very few people knew only that about him. And as we expect to hear a lot of his music over the next few days, we may wind up forgetting about that part entirely, at least for a while.

Listen up, Draztik.
Michael Jackson was a freakin GENIUS and made a thousand times the impact that you will ever make. He changed the world and the music industry in more ways than your minuscule and ignorant brain can imagine. Was he perfect? Hell no, in fact he was far from it. But it doesn't change the fact that he is and will always be a legend dead or alive. And the fact that you even think you're in a place to take shots and such a legendary man on his death bed, makes you no better than the prick you make him out to be.

olivia and laura says:

micheal jacksson changed music and the world. he was an amazing singer, performer, and dancer. he will never be forgotten, especially with his sudden, tragic death. he inveted the famous "moonwalk" and makes it look easy and it isnt at all. it takes skill to do all that while being judged for things outside his talents. and like that person said hes not perfect and no one is so if u have something to say about him y dont u think about the flaws you have too. he is awesome and amazing and always will be

There is no RIP here from me... another pedophile down and too many to go. Just because he could sing, people give him a free pass as he slept with young boys. No sympathy for that fucker.

Violet Pucsek says:

He was a very flawed man. He could have used some serious counselling. But I was totally shocked to hear of his death today. Reports are saying that he had problems with his weight (anorexia) and medications. I hope his funeral doesn't become a total circus. I just had a feeling that he would never make his London tour. Goodbye Michael and thank you for the music.

Love for MJ says:

No Matter what anyone says...MJ is as human as human can be, imperfect as all. He was, is,and will always be...the best continuing to perform in heaven with all past legends and more who truly appreciate him (believe it or not), and in peace from all the cruel judgement...I love you Michael...May GOD bless you and your family eternally!
