DATE: Saturday, June 13, 10:28 p.m.
LOCATION: 7511 15th Ave., Brooklyn

A Long Island teenager is dead after a gun went off and struck him in the head while his friends were playing with the firearm at a party in Brooklyn.

Phillip Levy, 17, of Wantagh, is dead, and his friend, 33-year-old Scott Bruno has been arrested on a murder charge.

Newsday reports that Bruno took out a gun during the party and began firing it into a wall. One of the bullets missed the wall and hit Levy. He was declared dead at the scene.

The victim's mom told Newsday that her son would be a senior at MacArthur High School in Levittown. She said he was a natural performer.

"He was always cracking us up," the mom said. "He could have been in the theater."

phil was one of my best friends he was nothing but a good kid with a warm smile and had nothing negative about it, he always could cheer someone up no matter the situation he will truly be missed

scott is such a tool. this isnt the first time scott pulled out guns and played with them. he has threatend people with them as if they were nothing more then an accesory. hes a raging alcoholic and a pyosiopath. he needs to be locked up and and dried out. i feel for the family and there loss. at some point u have to act like an adult and when 17 yr old kids show up to ur party, u should close the door and send them on their merry way.

phil was an absolutely amazing person. he was always talkin up a storm...even if you didnt know him that well, all you had to do was say "whats up" and he wud probly tell you everything he did that day..by far the most hilarious person ive ever met...it was nowhere near his time to go, he shoulda been graduating with me next year and been around to continue growing up with all of us who knew him.. my prayers go out to his family, this is a tremendous loss.
