Conservative writer Robert Novak has died after a long battle with brain cancer. His aggressive reporting and evident sympathies led colleagues to call him "The Prince of Darkness," which Novak took with good humor, using it in the title of his memoirs. Novak started as a sportswriter but developed a passion for politics and scored big in the 1960s with a syndicated column with Rowland Evans, The Evans-Novak Political Report. He eventually became as big as the news himself; he was embroiled in the Valerie Plame affair and a familiar face on political talk shows, and famously walked off CNN over remarks by James Carville. Still stalked by liberals, he continued to write until his illness prevented him. David Weigel, regretting the general tendency today toward spin and journalism by press release, says, "At his best, Novak cut through all of that and did real reporting that exposed what powerful people were thinking when the cameras were off."

Steve says:

I'm sorry the man is dead and I feel for his family, but the man was a traitor and should have died in a federal prison for outing an undercover CIA agent. plus, a reporter is supposed to at least have the veneer of objectivity...he never pretended to do so.

It is unfortunate that people like Steve can be so drenched in leftist or any ideology that they will believe a lie long after even their water boys in the media stop pushing the lie. She was not a covert agent end of your story. As far a traitors....our state department and pentagon are full of them. For the entire Bush term your pals put us all at risk and soldiers died because of the timely and media massaged and amplified leaks. Your career federal employees....hard core liberal democrats spent years sabotaging the Republicans in cahoots with the water boy media dolts. Exactly how does a leftist define objectivity in the news? Shut up and follow the NYT or CNN's lead? You people are not born to rule us Steve and you have no mandate to determine truth and enforce your version of truth or else....or do you now. OH and your back handed wish he died in prison make you nothing more then the typical hateful leftist....pig. Far to many of you and it's a shame. Your leftist hate is old and will shorten the democrat control of everything, so keep up the hate.

Man, wow. The State Department AND the Pentagon? Why not go for a trifecta, and include ... I dunno ... let's say the Department of Homeland Security too?
