Worst Halloween Costumes in the news: Illegal Alien

Target has taken down an "illegal alien" costume from their website after "several complaints," including one from the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, which called it "distasteful, mean-spirited, and ignorant of social stigmas and current debate on immigration reform."

The product description reads "He didn't just cross a border, he crossed a galaxy! He's got his green card, but it's from another planet! Sure to get some laughs, the Illegal Alien Adult Costume includes an orange prison-style jumpsuit with 'Illegal Alien' printed on the front, an alien mask and a 'green card.'"

A Target spokesman said that they totally didn't mean to sell the costume, which was on the site by mistake. Toys"R"Us also removed it from their site. If Amazon, Meijer, and Walgreens made a similar mistake, they haven't caught it yet.

The forces of political correctness also passed by the company selling the Sexy Illegal Alien costume, which comes with Dress, Sombrero, Handcuffs and Sunglasses (Accessories sold separately), or at least didn't get there until after they sold out.

These people need to get a life and get over it.
You dont have the right to NOT be offended.
and its a comical take on a TERM not a group of people.
I only hear of Mexicans complaining, the Swedish dont seem to have a problem with the costume.

Get over it... If you don't like being an illegal alien, get the hell back over the border where you came from. Target has no infringed on my right to purchase the costume online by removing it.

These rights groups are ridiculous. the costume with the orange jump suit is in NO way racist. the 'sexy illegal alien costume' _might_ be close for the hat being somewhat similar to a sombrero, but even that is a stretch.

also, if illegal aliens have a problem with being called illegal aliens, then they can go through the process to become a citizen, or they can go the F home.

I find it tasteless and despicable, like a lot of other Halloween costumes on the market.

However, what bothers me most about Target is that they purport to "give back to the community" and have a website touting it's love for "Nuestra Gente."

It's the perfect example of corporate hypocrisy. You can't sell "illegal alien" and bandido costumes and still show appreciation for Latinos (of course there are a lot of undocumented immigrants who do not come from Mexico or South America). Immigrants rights groups and others (like myself) are within our rights to speak up about such costumes promoting tired stereotypes and caricatures.

We are all humans, from Planet earth, and not of us are born illegal, and are all God's children too. We don't own any countries, and we all seek to love, be inspired and have peace and happiness on earth. Why don't we stop being so territorial over land that quite frankly isn't any one's. We don't even own the houses we buy. Just pray for peace, love and abundance and it will be yours. I am of Mexican ancestry, first generation. But, I only want to offer peace to anyone who might be so scared, and afraid in this world that they need to try to dehumanize others.

We are all humans, from Planet earth, and none of us are born illegal, and we are all God's children. We don't personally own any countries, and we all seek to love, be inspired and have peace and happiness on earth. Why don't we stop being so territorial over land that quite frankly isn't any one's. We don't even own the houses we buy. Just pray for peace, love and abundance and it will be yours. I am of Mexican ancestry, and proud of this lineage, first generation. Uh...they're ILLEGAL aliens....I married a LEGAL one....though I don't think there's a costume to lampoon him but there likely should be (Wikings, baby....nuclear wessels!) ;) . Why do we give a rat's arse if a Halloween costume offends people in our country illegally?

JesusWIllbitchSlapyo ignorantass says:

For your information undocumented individuals are not complaining they don't have a voice or say in our soceity. It is people that think that are not okay with "White, racist, bias, America" That always imposing their "entitlement" to what is right and wrong on others. You know it is worng and stupid. If you are Illegal Alien than you should not have a Green Card, so it is an obvious attack on undocumented individuals.

daned says:

Green Cards are for people who try to get here legally, so it doesn't fit the concept. Now if the card said "Free Healthcare" instead of "Green Card", that would be funny.

I bought fifty of these costumes as soon as i seen them and sold them on ebay for 100 dollars a piece. There very funny and will buy more if given the chance. If you dont like it then go back where you came from.

Should Men in Black be removed from the stores, cinemas, etc. as I remember they also were talking about a card for aliens to stay in America...

Anyway, like both costumes and I think Halloween should keep its fun side and never been subject to politics related stuff.

SO, the real illegal aliens are offended by the costume. How about the Americans are offended by the presence of 20 million illegal aliens in this Country?

Let's keep the costume and get rid of the illegal aliens! They don't belong here!
