Somebody Got Murdered: A Second Weekend Homicide in Staten Island

DATE: Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 12:27 a.m.
LOCATION: In front of 44 Yale Street, Staten Island.

In the second of two weekend murders in Staten Island, two men were shot, one of them fatally, while they sat in a Lexus outside the above address early Monday.

One victim, a male, 24, was shot several times, and declared dead at Richmond University Hospital. The second, a male, 23, was struck once in the left arm, and listed in stable condition at Richmond. The identities of the two men have yet to be released by police.

The Staten Island Advance, though, identified the dead man as Kemeek Sears, of Staten Island. The wounded man was identified as Donte mcKee, also of Staten Island. The Advance also reports that a fatal shooting early Saturday took place not far from this one, suggesting a possible connection.

LOCATION: 23 York Ave., Staten Island.

Staten Island isn't known as a murder hotbed, but this weekend, two men were shot and killed in the borough. The first of the fatal shootings took place early Saturday outside of the above address. The victim, identified by the Staten Island Advance as Earl Mangin, 23, of the borough, was shot in the head and one leg. He was declared dead at the scene.

Somebody Got Murdered: Cops Seek Public's Help in Stabbing Death

DATE: Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, 2:05 a.m. 
LOCATION: Allerton Avenue and White Plains Road, The Bronx. 

The police say a man was stabbed to death early Sunday at the above intersection. He had been stabbed repeatedly. He was taken to Jacobi Hospital where he was declared dead. The Daily News says investigators are trying to determine whether he was assaulted there, or stabbed elsewhere and then dumped at the scene. Cops are asking anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

Somebody Got Murdered: Severed Torso Found in the Bronx

LOCATION: Opposite 214 East 168 Street, The Bronx.

A building super discovered a male torso wrapped in a plastic bag inside a blue plastic garbage container early Saturday across the street from the above address. The medical examiner and detectives are investigating.

Somebody Got Murdered: Man Shot to Death in Brooklyn

LOCATION: corner of Sandford Street and Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn.

The police say a 27-year-old man was shot to death at the above intersection early Saturday. He had been shot twice in the chest. He was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he was declared dead. The victim's identity has yet to be released by police.

Somebody Got Murdered: Shooters Arrested in Precinct After Cops See Them Dumping Their Guns

DATE: Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, 6:14 p.m.
LOCATION: Boyland Avenue & Pitkin Avenue, Brooklyn.

Just a block from a police precinct, a 24-year-old man was shot fatally in the chest at the above intersection Monday evening, the police say. He was declared dead at the scene. Two men were arrested.

The Daily News reports that police were able to make quick arrests in the case because they saw the gunmen dump their weapons just before they entered the 73rd Precinct station house to report the shooting!

The alleged shooters, whose names have yet to be released, leaped out of a car and chased down Bishawn Turner, firing 5 rounds at him, striking him once in the head. The News reports the shooting may have been a gang retaliation for a prior shooting.

Somebody Got Murdered: Boyfriend Busted In Young Mom's Slaying

DATE: Sunday, Nov. 01, 2009 at approximately 7:30 p.m.
LOCATION: 690 Allerton Ave., The Bronx.

The investigation into the shooting death of a 22-year-old Bronx woman has ended with the arrest of her boyfriend, the police say. Margarita Feliciano was shot in the face, and declared dead in her 8th floor apartment at the above address Sunday night. She lived there with her 2-year-old daughter and the boyfriend.

William Soto, 40, of the same address was charged today with murder, firearms possession, and child endangerment. Neighbors told News 12 that Feliciano was repeatedly abused by her boyfriend.

Somebody Got Murdered: Three Shot, One Dead in Brooklyn

DATE: Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009, 4:21 a.m.
LOCATION: 834 Clarkson Avenue, Brooklyn.

Two men were shot, one fatally, and a woman was wounded outside a restaurant at the above address early Tuesday. All three were taken to Kings County Hospital. A male, 21, was declared dead at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his head. A male, 18, was listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his neck. The woman, 26, was struck in the right arm, and was also listed in stable condition. The police have not yet released the names of the victims.

Somebody Got Murdered: Man Stabbed After Ejecting Three From Restaurant

LOCATION: In front of 1447 St. Nicholas Avenue, Manhattan.

The police say a man, possibly a bouncer, was stabbed fatally after ejecting three people from La Casa Del Mofongo. He had been knifed repeatedly in the chest. He was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he was declared dead. Three possible suspects were being questioned last night, the police said.

Somebody Got Murdered: Student Shot Outside Brooklyn High School

DATE: Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, 3:15 p.m.
LOCATION: Rockaway Avenue and Hegeman Avenue, Brooklyn.

The police say a high school student was fatally shot at the above intersection Monday afternoon. Malachi Cotton, 17, of Sutter Avenue in Brooklyn was shot several times in the chest. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was declared dead. No arrests thus far.

Cotton had just left the Metropolitan Diploma Plus High School. He was standing at a bus stop when he was shot.
