Worst Criminal Ever Leaves $667,000 Worth Of Cocaine In Full View Of Cops

cocaine bear .jpg
The spin on this story at Hero Cop-loid the Daily News is all about the "quick-witted" and "eagle-eyed" rookie cops involved in this weekend's surprise bust of 29 kilos of cocaine on a street corner in Inwood. Kudos to them; that's a huge coup for 4 p.m. on an otherwise-uneventful Saturday patrol. But how eagle-eyed and quick-witted do you even have to be to notice that something is up when a guy is walking down the street with two duffle bags, spots you, grows visibly nervous, drops the bags on the street and books it? Which is what happened, by the way.

Everything bagel.
Corner delis are great; they have hot sandwiches, beer, snacks and everything you need. Some, like Nel Boy Bagels in Staten Island, may go a bit overboard. The Daily News reports the Amboy Road deli was busted in a recent sting operation where they allegedly sold "500 Oxycodone pills, 368 Percocet pills and 245 Xanax pills" to undercover detectives. The pills were reportedly sold for $20 each in yet another example of deli price gouging.

Jose Ocasio and Joseph Murphy, Bronx Cops, Charged With Beating Up Teen; One Cop Believed to Be on NYPD Boxing Team

Jose-Ocasio-NYPD-boxer.jpg
NYPD boxer Jose Ocasio
The NYPD arrested two of their own Monday for allegedly kicking and punching a Bronx teen last February 18 after issuing him a summons on East 181st Street, across the street from the 46th Precinct house. Officers Joseph Murphy, 26, and Jose Ocasio, 28, were charged with assault, official misconduct, and harassment, and the NYPD also suspended them.

The NYPD's announcement was terse, but the Voice has learned that there is a cop in the 46th Precinct named Jose Ocasio who is a member of the Fighting Finest, the NYPD's boxing team, which is set to travel to Budapest this fall. Team officials couldn't be reached for comment on whether this is the same cop.
WPIX/11 says the 17-year-old victim was beaten and kicked and suffered bruises and cuts to his head. So basically, the two cops allegedly stomped him.

In the midst of all the Osama Bin Laden news there's a bit in the New York Post about "hipster communities" in Williamsburg and Greenpoint that are either partying too hard, or are partying just the same as they've always been partying but getting busted more, depending on who you ask. Apparently, local officials in the area are pushing to ban new bars in Williamsburg and Greenpoint; meanwhile, heroin and pot busts are reportedly up in the 94th Precinct, which covers the area, 33 percent this year compared to last.

Antoine Dodson Arrested For Weed Possession

AntoineDodson.jpg
Antoine Dodson of "Bed Intruder" fame was arrested last night around 2:30 for marijuana possession. Thank you, TMZ, for taking care of that "Hide yo' pot" joke so I don't have to. Dodson was busted by the Huntsville, Alabama PD, booked on a misdemeanor possession charge, and released shortly after. In other words, there is literally nothing interesting about this story apart from the fact that Dodson was once the star of a frankly kind of racist viral video.

Suspect in Serial Subway Robberies Busted

Cops have arrested a Brooklyn teen who they think is the serial subway robber who's been ripping off people all over Manhattan since February. First he stalks his prey. Then he smiles at them and chats them up, either on the street or subway platforms and corridors. Then he displays a gun or knife and steals their cells and other property. At least six times in all. Cops released a video of a suspect a week ago. Last night, April 13, Devante Scott, 17, of Canarsie, was busted, charged with robbery and menacing.
