As New York legislators advocate for a domestic violence registry, there comes news of another brutal murder in the city, with the boyfriend of one of the victims being sought by police as a "person of interest." Larisa Prikhodko, 28, and her mother, Tatyana Prikhodko, 56, were found fatally stabbed in their apartment in Sheepshead Bay this morning. Larisa was a nurse who worked at Mount Sinai and the mother of a three-year-old son; her mother, Tatyana, was a nurse at Brookdale Hospital. The two both worked in maternity units, reports the New York Post.

​Raul Barrera, accused of slicing up girlfriend Sarah Coit's face, stabbing her to death, and nearly decapitating her, has a history of domestic violence with at least two other past girlfriends, the Daily News reports, furnishing details this morning.

Barrera, charged with murder in the April 10 slaying, had a weepy reunion with his parents in the Bellevue psych ward, where people are making sure he doesn't kill himself before standing trial.

Suspect in stabbing

​Cops have identified the man they say is suspected of stabbing a 23-year-old man in the wee hours of March 27 around the area of 256 West Fourth Street in the West Village. The victim's name hasn't been released; at last report, he was in critical condition. The suspect, cops say, is known as "Francisco." He allegedly stabbed the victim several times after an argument. Francisco is a little twerp, described by cops as 5 feet tall and 20-23 years old, with an eagle tattoo on one of his hands. Cops have released a startling video of a savage, slashing attack March 22 inside a Bronx bodega that left a 26-year-old woman with 40 stitches in her face. "My face will probably never heal up," the victim told the Post.

The victim says it started the day before the attack when one of the women yelled at her about her clothes.

Cops have finally released a video of people they want to talk to about the still-unsolved murder by stabbing of Bronx teen Dennis Marquez on Sunday, March 13, in Morrisania. Marquez, 16, of 1878 Harrison Avenue, was found mortally wounded at about 1:45 a.m.

​A 16-year-old girl was brutally slashed in the face and one of her hands was nearly severed during an argument Wednesday evening in front of a Brooklyn McDonald's, cops say.

"He pulled out a long and curved knife. He slashed at her two, three times and ran. Her face was covered in blood. When I went to hold her hand, her right hand was almost off her body," witness Dronia Thompson told the Daily News.

​Saturday night's party went on too long for Pascual Flores. The 22-year-old Bronx man was stabbed to death shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, February 20, in Brooklyn, at Liberty and Sheridan avenues in East New York. Cops say he had left a party with another man to get more beer when they were confronted by the killer. Cops say they don't know what the motive was. Flores was stabbed "in the torso," as the NYPD puts it. His 23-year-old pal, no name released, was slashed in the right thigh; his injuries were said to not be life-threatening. Flores lived at 3013 Matthews Avenue, in Bronxdale.

• The Brooklyn man who stabbed his father to death yesterday has been caught this morning after killing his ex-girlfriend and her mother and stabbing two others. As the Post puts it, 23-year-old Maksim Gelman "resurfaced" 12 hours after killing his father to murder his ex-girlfriend Yelena Bulchenko, 20, and her mother Anna, 56. He then "resurfaced" again later to stab a livery cab driver and the driver of a Nissan Maxima in an attempt to steal their cars. Neither of those victims suffered fatal injuries. Gelman has 10 prior arrests, the most recent only from last week; his super describes him as a "street punk." [NYDN, NYP]

Homicide suspect Maksim Gelman

​A 54-year-old Sheepshead Boy man was found stabbed to death shortly after 5 a.m. today in his home at 2830 East 27th Street. Aleksandr Kuznetsov was discovered with multiple stab wounds and was DOA at the scene. Brooklyn cops already have a suspect: Maksim Gelman, 23. He's 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, and may be driving a gray 2004 Lexus ES330 with the New York license plate DHE8322. Sorry, no VIN number has been released.

Sounds like a Russian mafia tale, this being just east of Brighton Beach and all and the cops having released what look like mug shots of the suspect, but there's no word of that officially.
