It's a fact: conventions bring people together. This year, there are over 100,000 people at New York Comic Con cramming into the Javits Center to pour over vintage comics, show off their costumes, or catch a few panels among tons of other things. However, on the first official day of the Con, two people were brought way, way closer together than anyone else in the crowd.

Happy Valentine's Day! Cutest East Village Couple Give Love Advice: "There Is No Love Today"

"I love you, God bless you and see you tomorrow," is how Pilar La Rosa bids adieu to her regular patrons at Pilar Jewelry Repair on East 7th Street. Shopping at her quaint boutique is always a joy, though for the most part we stop by for no apparent reason other than to chat with owners Pilar and her husband Walter. You see, it's not everyday you meet a happily (and chill) married couple (in Manhattan) that also happen to work together.

This adorably cute couple hail from Lima, Peru, and have been coworkers for the past 20 years at this East Village storefront, which is an accomplishment in itself. What is even more astonishing is that they've been married for the past five decades! So on today's very special love day, we asked the one couple who spends every waking moment together how relationships can function and survive in today's complex digital love age.

Patrick Mitchell Tried to Burn Down Ex-Girlfriend's Apartment Twice in 24 Hours

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then get arrested for two counts of arson.

That's the formula 43-year-old Patrick Mitchell followed in his attempt to burn down his ex-girlfriend's apartment -- after failing to do so on Monday, he gave it another shot on Tuesday. He was then arrested.

Mitchell, of the Bronx, has been hit with two counts of second-degree arson and burglary for his two failed attempts to torch his girlfriend's Long Island apartment.

Long Island Man Stabs Former Flame 13 Times, Self Four Times. Everybody Lives.

Here's a love story with a (somewhat) happy ending: A Long Island man is recovering from multiple stab wounds after he stabbed himself four times yesterday afternoon. But that was only after he stabbed his ex-girlfriend 13 times.

But here's what's makes the story less tragic than it probably could have been: The suspect, 46-year-old Ruben Estrada, kinda sucks at stabbing people; both he and his ex survived the attacks and are in stable -- but critical -- condition at a hospital near Massapequa.
