French pedicure = disaster.

​Today Brooklyn blog Fucked in Park Slope reports on an incident that occurred at what you'd imagine to be a perfectly respectable and generally rage-free (save the cutting of cuticles) zone: A nail salon on Fifth Avenue near Carroll Street. Specifically, H&L Nail Spa. And yet, there was rage. A lot of rage. According to FIPS reader MacKenzie Fegan, who was there during the "most violent nail salon encounter that you're likely to hear about all day," it all started when a teenage girl got a French pedicure (always a bad idea -- ugly, plus, they cost more). She couldn't pay the bill, which led to a call to her parents, her parents' arrival at the salon, her father's screaming in rage, everyone screaming back, and chairs being thrown.

​For those seeking proof that people are stupid, there is this: Cosmetic foot surgery, a/k/a, the "Cinderella procedure," the absolute latest in ridiculous plastic surgery trends. If you have ugly, questionable, too fat, too skinny, wrinkly, or otherwise compromised feet, you can fix them permanently and live your life as a full and enabled human being! Kudos to the Daily News on finding the photo for their article, which, no kidding, almost made us vomit. And that's saying a lot.

​Watch out, Vegas, Atlantic City might get all done up like a fresh-faced showgirl (oxymoron?) if legislatures agree with a proposal to spruce up the still kinda gritty boardwalk-clad gambling city with a state-controlled plan. At a press conference today, Christie stood firmly behind the proposals issued in a report by the New Jersey Gaming, Sports and Entertainment Advisory Commission to add both gaming and non-gaming attractions that will draw a crowd to the South Jersey locale.
