State Senator Ruben Diaz Used Anti-Gay March for Marriage to Talk About Satan

Reverend State Senator Ruben Diaz, Sr. has represented the Bronx's 32nd District for some eleven years now, and on one point, he's always been consistent: the gays. Diaz, a Pentecostal minister as well as a Democrat, has remained implacable in his distaste for LGBT people, even when his lesbian granddaughter is leading a counter-protest directly across from his anti-same sex marriage rally. Even in light of the fact that two of his brothers were also gay. Even when the LGBT people in question are teens trying to attend the Harvey Milk School, which Diaz tried to put a stop to in 2003 by suing the city on the grounds that it discriminated against straight students.

So it's perhaps not surprising that Diaz promised he would bring 5,000 people to the National Organization for Marriage's second annual March for Marriage in Washington D.C. yesterday, even though it was the last day then senate was in session, and perhaps he had some other work to attend to. The buses were paid for by NOM themselves, and Diaz said he and more than 100 other Hispanic ministers would attend with their congregations.

Satan Is Messing With the Plumbing at Anti-Abortion Group Expectant Mother Care's Offices

Slattery in the chapel of his Bronx office.
Fall is typically a busy time for anti-abortion groups. That's because of 40 Days for Life, a yearly protest in front of abortion clinics that goes on for, you guessed it, 40 days. There are typically 40 Days protesters here in New York, which they refer to as the "abortion capital of America." Those protesters are led by Chris Slattery, who runs Expectant Mother Care (EMC), a group of 12 anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers throughout the city. They're the ones that have the "Free Abortion Alternatives" ads on the subways, and give counseling designed to steer women away from having abortions.

Slattery and his interns tend to protest year-round outside of Dr. Emily's, an abortion clinic in the Bronx that provides late-term procedures. They usually ramp up their efforts during 40 Days. This year, though, the staff at Dr. Emily's reports that they haven't yet seen Slattery and his crew, although the 40 Days campaign began on September 25. There's a reason for his absence, and that reason is Satan. According to Slattery, the Devil is behind a series of "floods, explosions, evacuations, break-ins, nearby murders, illnesses, and set backs" at EMC.

Someone on Reddit discovered that if you type "" into your browser, you will be redirected to the website of Bank of America. Try it! It works. Apparently this is kind of a thing. Other examples (which you have to click on otherwise you won't get the joke) include, allegedly created by Harvard students, and, which I don't really get but it has to do with the Illuminati I guess.

Landlord Stanley Katz Sued by Feds over His Child-Rapist Building Super Demanding Sex from Tenants

Child-rapist William Barnason: Strong candidate for Voice award as the city's Worst Building Super.
Federal prosecutors in New York filed a civil lawsuit today accusing Upper West Side landlord Stanley Katz and his building super William Barnason with sex discrimination, alleging that Barnason — a high-risk sex offender convicted of raping children — routinely tried to demand sex from female tenants in exchange for reduced rent. He allegedly threatened to evict tenants who didn't comply.

Katz and Barnason are both accused of being responsible for sexual harassment. Katz employed Barnason as a super for eight years for these three buildings: 144 West 73rd Street, 140 West 75th Street, and 142 West 75th Street. The landlord fired Barnason only after the Post's Dan Mangan broke the story on February 1. Barnason had served 14 years in prison for raping and sodomizing three Long Island girls, ages 5 to 7.
