Chlamydia_pneumoniae.jpg
A lot of pregnant women don't get tested for sexually transmitted diseases. But a lot of pregnant need to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases, according to just released Centers for Disease Control stats.

Out of some 1.3 million American women who had blood work during pregnancy, only 59 percent got tested for chlamydia, Reuters reports on the findings.

Bernstein, 62, worked as director of administration at the org, which offered affordable therapy to the public.

Pedro Molano, Bronx Teacher, Belts Students, Keeps Job

300px-Belt-clothing.jpg
Yesterday, a Bronx teacher was arrested after using his belt to break up a fight between two students. Pedro Molano, 54, saw the kids fighting, removed his belt and began whipping them to stop the scuffle. The ages of the children were undisclosed, but the the school only teaches pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. This means that the children could only have been ten- or eleven-years-old, tops. Molano was charged with two counts of assault and reassigned to a different school. He may face further disciplinary action depending on the results of the trial. We can't imagine parents will be thrilled to discover that he's teaching at their children's school. [NYDN]
