I might change for the look kind of sexy for a Linux distro.
I be fond of her blog too!!! She has surprising clothes!! And I need her hair's breadth !!!
This blog looks good..I wish you come back to it :( I just learned of it..
hasta la vista mr tom
I know it's a little late, but, it's never too late lament or express gratitude. Tom, Status Ain't Hood was the only blog besides
X-Entertainment's that I read and treasured. I know all good things must come to an end and your writing is sharper and dead on in your new, more "fleshed out" pieces. Thank you, for being a brother in arms as man dissecting urban culture in a rabid venomous manner. I salute you for always shooting straight, when many journalist's have a hidden agenda or payola. Yes Tom, I believe you are more than some Blog hack, you are a writer, you are a journalist and everything you wrote shared one singular vision: logic prevails all.
It would be wrong and in many cases, a bad idea (like any spin-off or sequel for the cash) but, Tom, the good folks at "The Village voice", I propose to continue or collaborate in any way an off shoot of "Status Ain't Hood". I know it's a bad idea, perhaps maybe even silly. I state my case, "Status Ain't Hood", must live on. I will gladly offer my services to keep it alive. I always believed people should do their own thing. To me, S.A.H.(Finally an acronym)
is and should be an institution. I'll be better, maybe worse, but, the tradition shall live on. God, this has become hokey, even though it's completely sincere. One way or the other, I loved the blog and miss it. Let's bring it back
in some new shape or form. I mean c'mon, it took like eight guys to play Batman before Christian Bale got it right.
Sincerely,
JERRY HORROR

yo I did not even get to see you write get back heir and do your thing nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Tom, fuck whatever other job venture you've got going. NY Times is trying to hire you? Fuck em. Start that Statusainthood.com and blog about hip hop for a living. I'll click the pay pal donation thing i swear.
Tom....I've been a quiet listener/ reader of your podcast/ blog for about a year plus now. I just want to say that its been a joy to read your insights, and I appreciate what you've done thus far and wish you luck in the future. Stack your paper up.
Good riddance to one of the most self-important least knowledgeable people ever to write about rap.
Yo,
I like your writing because you keep it all the way real and you're not afraid to be corny.
One love
C
I pour some of my morning coffee out for s'Ain't Hood...
hey tom i enjoyed reading your blog for the last few weeks, good luck with whatever you do next. on a side note, i dont know if youve ever heard or heard of tech n9ne but he is a rapper from my hometown Kansas City, and his new album killer is absolutely fuckin ridiculous. Im telling you this because i usually agree with you about music and carter 3 was easily my favorite album of the year so far until killer came out. I just wanted to let you know about this album because i think youd like it and i would love to see tech get some publicity, i was able to find it at target in kc but you may be able to find it at like an fye or some cd store. or online of course for free.
Hey Tom, I met you at the Bun B Zune listening party a couple months back (I was the dude sitting across from you the entire time who said what's up at the end)... Just wanted to say again that I've been a huge fan of your writing and am really going to miss this blog. I'll be on the lookout for your future ventures.
-Steven
Tom, you've been one of my favorite writers to follow, online or off, and have made me want to be a better writer myself. I really don't know where the hell I'm going to find a replacement for Status Aint Hood.
Thanks for making (listening to/talking about) music a lot more interesting.
Didn't always agree with you (way to much Ye and Weezy); but more often than not loved your podcasts and definitely with you on some other people you were bumpin - Killa Mike for example.
Either way, sad to see one of my favorite blogs go. Good luck cuz.
Hey Tom. I want you to know that I've been reading Status Ain't Hood for the past year and that I'm really depressed that it's going to be gone. I eagerly anticipate your next endeavour because you're EASILY my favorite blogger on the net. Easily.
Best of luck to you in the future and please understand that there are a bunch of people who are going to be without a place to read something this enjoyable and (sometimes) infuriating.
Ya gotta be freakin' kidding me. I live in LA but I live to read Status ain't hood...aahhh
Happy trails dude. I know I'm not alone when I say your writing pissed me off from time to time, but it was definitely entertaining to read more often than not and i think that's one of the better complements you can give an writer. The sheer scope and variety of what you wrote about is one of your strongest traits. One day your covering a freaky death metal show at BB Kings, the next your interviewing ghostface or something like that. There is definitely something to be said about these sudden 180s you constantly did that made column both fresh and unpedictable. Any chance these entries will be archived for posterity somewhere? I just think your writing nicely documents the NY scene as well as beyond that over last few years. It would be nice to look back and reminisce a couple years from now and remind us about the crazy shit that was going down in the city during your time writing. I also like the running commentary you would provide on all those bullshit awards shows that the average human being couldn't possibly muster the stamina to sit through. Funny shit.
Great Blog, Tom. Been reading it for the past year+ every day. Haven't commented but once. Good luck on your future endeavors. Deleting bookmark ...
I've always enjoyed reading your comments on music for the last 2 years.
You succeeded in pissing me off at times but I always came back because I knew that 99% of the time you knew what you were talking about.
I'm gonna miss this blog a hell of a lot.
Good luck with the future Tom & I hope we get to read more from you soon.
Hey, great site. I'll start checking for this blog every day!
hey tom good luck in your next adventure
EVERYBODY check out my site for some free music
made by me....
this is the only blog i read. but ya know,
all good things must come to an end.
it's been a good run though, dude.
i wish you the best in whatever you'll be doing now.
Thanks for the words. You've inspired me to try a hand in the music journ biz, just because of a few electric lines every once in a while. See you on the other side, synth burps and all.

Good work Tom. At least keep us up to date on Dip Dip Dive with tracks you think are hot.
Thanks. Best of luck in the future.
you suck
Thanks for everything!
You are one of the few pop culture theorists on this planet that I really respect.
Btw, "an emo band who met on the set of Hannah Montana. Just like Rites of Spring!" is probably the quote of the summer.
:(
Hey Tom. I've read this, like, every day for the past couple years. You're basically one of my favorite critics around. This is going to leave a bit of a hole. I hope to see you come back, wearing the 45, sometime soon. Wherever that is.
Uhh... unless that secret Internet project you were talking about is porn. I'll give that a miss.
good look on the photoshop, hahaha. can't wait for you to get back to writing. i'll be missing status ain't hood till then.

Please let us know somehow when you can tell us what you'll be up to next.
Thanks Tom. Good last post, one of the few not hyping Lil' Wayne.

For the record, there was alcohol in that cup... Good Luck Tom!!
What am I going to do now to waste time at work, Tom?
